Make Remote Forensic Investigations Forensic Again – ICDF2C Best Paper Award

The technique of remote forensic investigations (known as „Online-Durchsuchung“ in Germany) has been criticized in the past because of general problems with the evidential value of obtained data. Marcel Busch, Florian Nicolai, Fabian Fleischer, Christian Rückert, Christoph Safferling and Felix Freiling show how this value can be increased using trusted hardware and good ideas. Their paper „Make Remote Forensic Investigations Forensic Again: Increasing the Evidential Value of Remote Forensic Investigations“ received the best paper award at the 11th EAI International Conference on Digtal Forensics & Cyber Crime (EAI ICDF2C 2020).
